The main A351 Wareham-Swanage road runs through the village. Sorry, no petrol stations in Corfe Castle ! Your nearest fill-up points are:-

• Purbeck Motors, in the village of Stoborough near Wareham, just off the A351. Tel 01929.552151

• Moonfleet Cars Ltd, in the village of Harmans Cross midway between Corfe Castle and Swanage. Tel 01929 480215.

• St Michaels Garage, on the Swanage side of Harmans Cross.

Street Parking in the village is limited; there is a ‘Pay and Display’ car park in West Street and there is the Castle View Car & Coach Park (National Trust) at the foot of the Castle, or you can park at Norden, around half a mile from the village, and ride here on the steam railway.

The PARK AND RIDE at Norden is a unique example of a rural transport system that really works. Developed by Swanage Railway in conjunction with Purbeck District Council, there is space for over 250 cars, coach parking, a visitor centre and children’s play area. This award-winning facility is currently free of charge.

For full details of the operating days and times, log on to the Swanage Railway website at www.swanagerailway.co.uk

2. On the A352 between Wool and Wareham, in the village of East Stoke (40 mph limit)
